I ride and write.

I ride and write. I am not a cowboy. I don’t profess to be.  I am somewhere between horse girl and wanderer - between a rusty nail and stainless steel. I am real. Born of the water yet drawn to the desert. I am resilient. A creative thinker with a kick of adventure. An equestrian explorer.

Last month I wrote a letter – or was it a story? - of rain drops on sheet metal, the sound of wind through a horse’s mane. An old saddle-stitched leather jacket on my back. The wilds of this land on my mind. A crusty horseshoe from another time. A ram horn encased in sand. The unexpected bloom of a cactus.

These are my treasures. Ride with me.

I’ve been published in several online and offline magazines such as Texas Parks and Wildlife, Horse Trails of America, and The Cenizo Journal. My latest article for TPW Magazine won 1st and 2nd place with the Outdoor Writer’s Association of America and American Horse Publications, respectively.

Most recently, I was honored to be named a 2025 Artist in Residence for Big Bend National Park, and help narrate a desert documentary coming out this summer by Wild Yeti Film.

Noted as a finalist in the 2025 Unleash Press WIP contest, current works in progress include a collection of true stories and journal entries from 14 hands high, interspersed with a memoir narrative. A hundred trails of riding forward through the southwestern U.S. to understand the past, and in its purest form, a charted route of recovery and change after a lifetime of bending.

My hope is to inspire others to have the confidence to believe in themselves and connect through nature.  â€‹â€‹
