Over the last five years, Dex and I have ridden at least 130 different trails solo across Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona, the southern border from Texas to California and back, and most recently the headwaters of our coveted Rio Grande in Colorado.

Confessions of a Saddle Tramp: A Hundred Trails (work in progress) is a collection of short stories and journal entries from 14 hands high, interspersed with a second voice in memoir narrative - my voice - looking back at what it took to finally follow my own lead.

The book will include real-time stories (as seen on my blog Confessions of a Saddle Tramp) from most, if not all of these rides.

And what better validation than to receive notice this very morning, that my work in progress is a Finalist in the Unleash Press 2025 WIP Competition!
